How are these online book stores able to get away with this absurd price fixing?

Why can't they let the publishers decide what to charge, the whole thing is completely rigged!
Publishers can charge whatever they wish. All they need to do is open their own store.
But if I'm running the store, I get to set the prices. Capitalism baby!
