I recently got a Logitech cordless trackball and got to experience the joy of setting up all the buttons on it. But then I got to wondering... what about everyone else?

Here's what my... input device... looks like:

Arrow above scroll wheel: Open Terminal
Arrow below scroll wheel: Switch Applications to the right (so that the Switcher that it brings up lets me go between two apps easily)
Up arrow (above thumb clicker): Exposé All Windows
Down arrow: Exposé Show Desktop
Lock button: Open Finder window

Then there are the two other buttons, under the thumb and to the right of the scroll wheel. Those are click and right-click, respectively.

What setups do all of you out there have? Interesting to see what people do.
(I set up my two-button mouse such that Control+Shift+Right Click would perform Exposé actions, so people can chime in if they've done things like that. One-button mice... I suppose it would have to be inventive...)

Mighty Mouse

Left Click
Right Click w/ a customized contextual menu with lots of shortcuts
Middle is Expose All Windows
Side button is the delete key

I've got a Logitech MX1000

Left click: left click
Right click: right click
Scroll wheel: scroll wheel
App switcher button on side: App switcher
Up arrow next to app switcher: Command-Right (Forward in Safari)
Back arrow next to app switcher: Command-Left (Back in Safari)
Arrow above scroll wheel: Command-H (Hide)
Arrow below scroll wheel: Command-M (Minimize)

Logitech MX518

Left Button: Left click
Right Button: right click (ctrl click)
Scroll Wheel: Scroll
Scroll Click: Auto Scroll
Thumb button 1: Expose
Thumb button 2: Expose
+ button: Next
- button: Previous
Other button: Cmd ~

Mighty Mouse

Scroll Dot-DashBoard
Side Buttons-Expose

I used App Switcher for a hour and was like expose is much nice

I use an old USB logitech mouse I bought about 6 years ago. Still serves me well.

I don't have a mouse...

With a trackpad, you can use fancy stuff like iScroll 2 to handle right-click, middle-click, two-finger scrolling, etc. I use it when I'm mobile. Linkety

And I'm kinda surprised how many people have their mice set up to use Exposé... I like the scroll wheel click to open tabs up in Safari...

I do have Sidetrack on my iBook, and I have one corner set to be a right click. I had other corners set up for Exposé at one point, and also as the middle mouse button, at another, but I just use gestures on both my Macs now. :)

MS Bluetooth Mouse:

left button: left click
right button: right click
clickable scroll wheel: expose all windows (F9)
forward button on right side: dashboard
back button on right side: clear all windows (F11)

Man, once you have more than 1 (or even 3) buttons, you can never go back! :D

Maybe we need to start a thread about how people have their one-button mice configured? ;) :D I wonder if we're the only two who have ours set up this way? :)
Can I come too? I think mine is set up the same way as well!

Thanks, but I reach the ctrl and cmd keys just fine... and I use the space bar to scroll up and down webpages, using 2 fingers on my old iBooks trackpad would just confuse it... and me... :p ;)

Apple Mighty Mouse

Standard Setup

scroll ball - dashboard
squeeze buttons - exposé
left click / right click

And I must admit using an Apple Pro mouse just isn't the same after I got used to this "Mighty" rodent.

Left click, right click, and scroll are 'standard.'
Er.
The little button by my thumb= F9/ show all windows
The bigger button by my thumb= F12/ Dashboard

Mighty Mouse
Left & Right click enabled
Side buttons - exposé (desktop)
Scroll wheel click - exposé (all windows)

Works for me!

You happy with that bluetooth mouse? Was thinking about getting a wireless mouse but reading lots of negative feedback.
