So my 2G touch arrived yesterday and I have been debating whether to open it up and use it, or get a screen protector first. I am very not worried about scratches, I am very very careful with my stuff, the only concern is fingerprints. How bad are they without a protector? Are they easy to clean off? Can you see them easily on the Ipod while you use it?
Thanks all

The answer to all of your questions is yes.

Having owned an iPod touch in the past, now an iPhone, I can easily say that yes, they do stand out, yes they do pick them up easily and yes they just wipe off. It's more smears than fingerprints.

I always clean the screen with my shirt or something.

scratches just give it more character, another way to personalize it...

I have been using mine with no protectors at all since the day after it was announced, and there have been no scratches on it whatsoever. Fingerprints are barely noticeable, and only when you tilt the Touch in a certain way in the light. Wiping it off once a day seems to work well, just use the included cloth or the nicer one from iKlear (my preference, and already had it on hand).

Did you get the IKlear from apple store? I see one with a cloth but it comes with some liquid cleaner etc. Is your's just the cloth by itself?
