Every store had lines, some just a few people, others in the hundreds. Really depends on location.

The Apple Store I went to last year had about 75 people in line when I got there at 12:30pm and had about 160 people in line at 6:00pm.

I was #25 in line at the Apple store I went to last year. I took these shots a few minutes before 6PM:

I'm sure there were at least 100 people behind me, if not more...

My local ATT store said they got 130 iphones last year, and the line was 128 people long, then the other 2 iphones sold later that same day.

the line in vegas was quite long. I was at about the 2/3 mark and it took me over an hour to get in to buy one. We have a second, much larger store now. Hopefuly this will help with long lines at apple launches.

There was no Apple Store in Ann Arbor last year, and the line's at the AT&T stores were pretty long. This year there's an Apple Store and 2 AT&T stores within a few miles of each other, so I think the lines won't be too bad.
