well im going to throw in a good response before all the internet police members come in. check versiontracker.com and look at a program called forty-two.
also, your pinky on the keyboard is about a 1/2 centimeter away from earning a little more respect on this forum
If you want to keep all of the menus and stuff that were in the original dvd, I don't know, but for just ripping movies and such onto your hard drive, handbrake from versiontracker is really good. You can tell it a bitrate or a target size for the rip, as well as the file format. Also you can crop the movie, which can be good.
