We have 2 computers (a G4 powermac 350mz and a G3 imac 600mz) and need to exchange files over Appleshare. This used to work fine with OS 8.6, but now we are both using OS9.2.2 and after using the OS setup assistant to set up file sharing passwords, we can no longer access each others files over Appleshare - the dialogue box says "unknown user, incorrect password or log-on disabled". The strange thing is that when I open the File Sharing Control Panel, the password shown has 8 "dots" (characters), while the password we entered with the set-up assistant only had 6 characters. When I try to change the password in the Control Panel, it won't let me. Any advice would be much appreciated.
