I just recently purchased an Open Item 30GB Video iPod from Best Buy, and since someone else had already used it in iTunes, it had a name I don't want it to have.
How can I change the name of my iPod as it appears in iTunes and on my iPod?? Anyone know??

Thanks for the help!!!

when it shows up in the source list in iTunes, double click and you can edit it like you can a playlist title.

I have the same issue as the original poster. I have tried all of those above methods, and while my iPod now displays the correct name in the finder, in iTunes 7 it is listed under the "Devices" heading and has the original name still. Is there anything short of a full restore to rename it under the new iTunes?

i've changed mine in itunes as well and never had a problem with it 'sticking'

maybe try something other than ZUNE. j/k..:D
