I've been using Candybar but $30 seems way too much for me to buy. I know I can change the recycling bin and Finder with copy and paste but this doesn't work for iChat for example. Are there any good alternative programs or ways of doing this?
Thanks!

Thank you but I've tried this and it only allows me to change the ones I can do with copy and paste, not iChat, Firefox, iPhoto, etc.

Aplications in OS X, the .app files, are just folders. Learn to use the Terminal program and you can navigate inside the app folder and see the icon files. They're in a folder called Resources. I haven't tried it but I assume you can just replace the icon files inside there with new ones and it'll work. I suggest you back up yore app before expeimenting though lol

No need to use the terminal, just right click on the app and go to show package contents.

You can change/replace .icns files in the /Contents/Resources folders, as stated above. :D
