How can I create a m4v video from a mkv without re-encoding.

i've been trying to play my media (that i encoded in mkv format) and realised i need to change the format to something that the PS3 can play.

Please suggest something.

This is like asking how I can walk across the room without walking? Impossible... you *have* to re-encode.

Use AVIdemux , keep video and audio on copy and choose mp4 for format, be sure to name the file (whatever).mp4

Another program that can do this (if it's h264 inside the mkv) is subler:

create a new file,then drag and drop the mkv in the window,then choose to save as a mp4 video.
