Hi. Is there a way for me to determine the bit rate of an audio stream I'm listening to? Does this require a special application? I have pretty much a stock MacBook Pro.

Thanks in advance,
Greg

I'm not aware of any way of doing this, is there a specific streaming source you're wanting to check? Because they may have made that figure public elsewhere.

If you have a network activity monitor like the one that comes with iStat Menus, you can probably make a rough estimate. Just see what your "uploading" data rate is. Just make sure you're not doing anything else on the internet.
