I have an elderly relative who cannot see very well at all. As such, she does not want a password, she can't see to enter it.

Unfortunately a recent update has resulted in her iPad prompting her to set up a password, and she had a lot of trouble trying to get through the prompt.

She also has an iPhone and she isn't able to update it until we get this resolved, because she can't see well enough to get past the screen.

Is there some way to disable this?

I have tried adding a configuration profile disabling the password prompt, but this apparently only works with "managed devices".

I think assistive access may do what you want.
