I would like to be able to find the IP of people who IM me using iChat or Skype etc. Is there a way to find the IPs of incoming messages/calls?

I tried using the linksys router's built in log table thing, but that doesnt really help. I would like to have the IP where the name is as well. so you would see:

John Doe: 24.55.78.222: Hello, my name is John doe, and I'm a crazy stalker.

I think it's a little more complicated - aren't all IM's forwarded through an IM server (whether AOL or MSN)? If that's the case, could you actually see a "real" IP address, or just the address of the IM server?

Skype may be a little different.

how about skype?

I dont think all the IMs are forwarded thorugh a server that would take way too many resources.
The Unix talk is peer-to-peer, but AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo Chat most certainly are server-based.

Think about it--can you access any of these systems without registering first?

Can you logon to any of these systems without a password and screen name?

Just how do you think Guddie2shoes can access Stud69?
