How can I eject a DVD that won't eject?

I've put Home Alone in my MBP. For about five minutes now its been spinning up, slowing down, then spinning up, then slowing down etc.

It isn't on the desktop. I've pressed eject about a thousand times. I can't restart due to other un-saved work.

How can I stop this cycle and eject the disk?

Restart your computer and after hearing the chime, hold down the mouse button until the disc ejects.

Save the work and restart? Other than that, you could try what is suggested here.

I had this same problem, but I found that even the restart and holding down the mouse button didn't work for me, so I turned it off and left it to cool down, and then rebooted and the disc came out fine (It was after a long burning session so both the computer and the drive got pretty hot I think).
