Hey guys,

When my Mac is turned on for more than 1 day this happens:

Every icon goes down the screen and I can't even see the icons I had on the very bottom before. Clicking on them doesn't work. I have to click like 5 cm higher to open for example a folder.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? It is very annoying.

Here my specs:

Mac OS X 10.7.5
1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 Go 1067 MHz DDR3

Thank you for your help guys!

I'm sorry toruweber, but your icons are in another castle.:p

are you hooking it up to an external monitor when this happens?

Haha, I want them back ^^

Actually I am not.

Edith: When I restart my mac it goes back to normal but I want to fix this for good.

1. Try switching the resolution back and forth.

2. Enjoy a OS reinstall ... :(

Unacceptable! :)
Call apple care. 99% of the time they tell you to reinstall the OS or make an appointment at the apple store.
Might as well get Meister Care its free :D

It reorganizes the icons but does not solve the problem. I think I'll back up my files and reinstall the OS.

strange. i was thinking monitor because sometimes that makes my windows go a bit wonky. you've got to be running something fullscreen that changes the resolution... so if it's not a monitor are you running a game, VM, or some other standalone program when this happens? or are they just at some point in time randomly rearranging themselves?

Running the full installer on top of the existing, without erasing, does not lose any data, settings or apps and often solves problems. get the full installer from MAS, circa 4Gb, not updates or combos.

You may need to run Software Update for any apps which have been updated since the full installer, and hacks like Trim Enabler will need to be redone.
