when i log on to different sites my mac air only displays a 2/3rds page size image. The file bar at the top and the dock with icons are still visible. How can I increase the size to full page for easier reading? Thanks for your help

U can tap command + and it will make the page inside the window bigger then use the scroll to move around. Then the minus to zoom out.

You can get at least a little more screen space by hiding the dock. If you right-click the dashed line to the right of the trash and select Dock Preferences, then check Automatically hide and show the Dock, the dock will drop off the screen when not in use. Then you can increase your browser to fill that extra space.

Firefox will do full screen. :)

newbie question

I believe that someone had tried to explain this to me before but I just wanted to make sure I understood properly. I have a 11" MacBook Air. I wanted to find out how to have webpages, etc fit my full screen (older..poorer eyesight...need I say more :)). I think I was told that the only way would be for me to buy the new OS when it comes out in July(??)
Have I understood that properly?

I searched google for "full screen safari" and this is the first thing I found.
http://www.jydesign.com/safari/
It seems you can use one of those programs to run safari in full-screen.
by the way, in windows you can press f11 in google chrome and it runs in full-screen. Doesn't chrome in mac have that feature? Darn you apple... They keep doing that! Simple things that can't be done... :/
