How can I get around my schools p2p block?

My school blocks P2P apps like Xtorrent and Acquisition. Are there settings in the apps that I can use to get around the blocks? I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.10

PLEASE READ before leaving an answer: Get past the fact that illegal downloads are possible through torrents and P2P. There are also legal things that are very convienent to download through torrents. That's mainly what I'm looking for.
 
We're not going to help you with bypassing network security at your school, regardless of what you want to use it for. Do not ask for such help on MacRumors, thanks.
