Is there something I can do in iTunes to have select mp3's under a custom folder/album so that it appears like that in iPod Touch?

For example. I have variety of artists from the 80's under a custom folder on my hard drive labeled 80's music. The way iTunes organizes by default I can't group them into a custom folder. I can't just use genre or sort by date either because none of the mp3's have proper information for such.

I basically have my entire music library structured as playlists but used folders to organize it as if it was a playlist. I just want to use my audio player in iPod (neutron player) so that I can view my music as I have it structured on my hard drive....I assume I have to create custom playlists as if they were folders? but I don't know how to do that and if Neutron player will automatically import my iTunes custom playlist if I were to do it like that.

Ideally I'd rather just copy and paste my folders into my iPod but there's no way to do that. I tried Iexplorer and another similar app but they won't allow access to the same folder that iTunes uses to transfer my music to? Any suggestions?
