How can I go back to Itunes 8 after installing 9?

I hate the new itunes - it has completely destroyed any semblance of order in my playlists on my ipod and there seems to be no way to restore it.

When I try to reinstall 8 I keep getting the message that my library was created by a newer version - even after I put back an old library.

You also need to revert back to the library from the older version. Replace that whole folder and it should work
