How can I hide iCloud Notes in the inbox of old macbook Mail?

In older versions of OS X iCloud Notes are in your inbox.

A Notes type inbox is on the left and all the individual notes are listed together with the emails in the main window.

Is there are way to hide those Notes from the Inbox? I know there is the advanced tab but it either includes or excludes Notes it seems.
