How can I import the dock items in new install

I was having trouble with my main HD.
So I installed Tiger onto an external firewire HD and used Migration Assistant to import (i.e. transfer) my information to the external HD.

Migration Assistant is supposed to transfer nearly all my information such as Users, Applications, Network and Machine Settings, Files and Volumes.

BUT it did not transfer the extra items that I had put in the dock. Nor did it transfer the arrangement of Dashboard items that I had.

Does Tiger store the information on the Dock and the Dashboard items?
Can I just drag that to the new HD?

Just use Carbon Copy Cloner. It will make an exact copy of your hard drive.

Is it so hard to setup the Dock the way you want it, though? Takes all of 10 seconds. Same goes for Dashboard (unless you had some important info on a Sticky or something, but if it's important probably should have it in a safer place ). I don't mean to sound mean, it just doesn't seem worth the trouble.
