I have just got an used Macbook Pro from a friend. The computer often becomes quite hot. Mine is the first generation of the Macbook Pro, with Intel Core Duo 2.16Ghz.

I use Temperature Monitor to detect the heat so I think it is pretty much accurately reflecting the temperature of my MPB. The temperture now is 78 Celsius degree for CPU A (even though I don't understand what the hell is it) and around 62 Celsius degree on average. Is it too hot for my laptop? And how can I know my cooling fan is still working? Since this is an used one, and also my very first Macbook Pro, I really need your assistance.

Thank very much for your help!

Don't worry unless it hits 100 C :)

But how can I know whether my fans are still working or not?

Please help,

Thanks!
