How can I make it so that the directories are listed first in any window that displays a directory? Currently all files and directories are listed in alphabetical order, but the directories are scattered through out the file list and it feels really messy. I could be just nick-picking though. I should also mention that I've been using my new Mac for only a couple of weeks and I'm starting to get the jist of things. Is there a setting or a possible add-on of some sort? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

View (menu) > Show View Options (menu item) > Kind (check box)

Finder Window in question > Kind

That should order them by kind/put the folders at the top.

Thanks! This works for all directory windows in the finder, but if I open up say my FTP program, they're all scattered again.
