How can I play a dvd on my iMac G3 with OS 10.3.9 via an external DVD drive??????????

Hi there,
i have 600MHz iMac G3 from 2002 and it has 10.3.9 installed and I have an external DVD drive. I have no software to run a DVD - please could you find me some software that will work!

Isn't DVD Player included in Mac OS X 10.3?

Or won't DVD Player read the external DVD drive? How is it connected, via Firewire (I hope so) or USB (I really hope not)?
