So I'm upgrading to a MacBook Pro and I have a 2006 13" MacBook that I'd like to refurbish. Besides replacing the screen and upgrading the RAM memory, I haven't really changed anything else.

I guess what I need is some insight into what components I should replace in a computer that is five-years old. I would very much like to change some of the body casing as well as some inner components like the heat sink.

What resources, if any, are available to a regular computer user, rather than the computer technician, in order to make this refurbishment successful?

Any advice, tips, and or links are welcome =D

You should also look up any components you might need on eBay. Depending on your luck, you can find new, genuine parts for a fraction of the iFixit prices. Good luck :apple:
