How can I remove a preview function in Mac Mail. Or how can I switch on the function to automatically close the e-mail that I responded to. Now I have all those e-mails open so I have to close them manually, which is a nuisance

You can double click the separator or drag it to the bottom of the pane to get rid of the preview function in Mail
