I have a regular iPhone 3G running Firmware 3.1.2. It is jailbroken and unlocked using Redsn0w. I am planning to give it a friend and I want to basically return it to a completely blank state by removing all of my personal info and all settings from the phone as if it was a newly purchased phone from the factory, except for the unlock.

I have the 3.1.2 IPSW file and Redsn0w and I have run Redsn0w, but I can't seem to get it back to that completely blank state with just a fresh firmware install.

So I am wondering how I can do this. I am sure there is an easy answer, but I am just missing something here.

Thanks for your good help on this.
