How can i restore my SMS database?

I have been trying to use TestFlight for a little while now....It used to work, but now since iOS 5, it no longer lets me download the apps. so i want to clear out my iPhone and start from scratch....but i was wondering if there was a way to restore my sms messages somehow (and preferably easily lol)
