The Valley!!
safari 4 has suddenly stopped working, as soon as it starts it hangs, it doesnt even make it to my home page. ive been forced to make my own browser in xcode and thats what im viewing this page on. is there a way to revert back?

there's an uninstaller in the package you downloaded to install it.

next time MRoogle

thats wrong, when you uninstall it you dont get rid of the whole program, and a lot of errors associated with the Safari 4 program interfering with other programs such as MSN messenger for Mac still remain.

yea well first of all im using devoloper preview cus i didnt like asthetic of beta, second i already deleted the dmg,
three, what can i do?

well that's just another reason to not use MSN messenger!

you can re download the package. uninstall it from there or install the beta and switch what you don't like in terminal (blue loading bar, tabs where safari 3 tabs were, turn off top sites, etc)

i've uninstalled safari 4 on my girlfriend's MBP and had no problems whatsoever

Safari 4 goofed up my PhotoBooth

Is that possible? One day I was working on a project when the update alert came on offering Safari 4 and two other updates but something I read later made me blame Safari for the loss of one of my favorite Effects in PhotoBooth: Pop Art. Well, I have it, but only the upper left quandrant now.

... is there a way to revert back?

Yes. Saved this in case I wanted to, but so far, no problems:

"Downgrading Safari"

Download Safari 3.1.1 Update from Apple's Download page.
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/safari311.html

Quit Safari.
Delete Safari
Delete the receipts file at /Library/Receipts/Safari4.0Tiger.pkg
Empty Trash

Mount Safari 3.1.1.dmg file
Run Safari311UpdPPC.pkg
Perform 'Upgrade'
Restart

All is good with Safari 3.
