Hi all,

I recently had pictures taken from a photographer and they sent them to me in a zipped file. I was able to unzip on my iphone 12 with the latest OS (16.1.1) and it looked like it saved in my iclould drive. When i select all the pictures in icloud drive and hit "Save As" - only 6 of the 41 pictures show up in my "Photos" app.

Has anyone else had this happen? anyway i can get all 40 pictures into the photos app?

Thanks so much!

can you check to see what the file format of the photos that are not saving are? Another possible solution if you have Lightroom Mobile (or maybe another photo editing app with access to the files app) is to open the photos with LR and see if you can export the photos to your photos app.

i just checked and both file formats are JPEG.

one thing i just thought of is using my mac and it looks like i can drag and drop from my icloud drive into photos which i think is working - though strangely on my mac the show up in the photos album on when they were taken - while on my phone they are display as the most recent picture.

is that normal? i've never tried to do this before.

Glad that method worked for you! I totally forgot to even mention using a Mac/PC connected to iCloud.

Yes I have had that exact thing happen to me with old photos and I am not quite sure why that happens, I believe it has something to do with how files get transferred and the date of creation of the photo and the last modified become the same date and so the Photos app looks at I believe the date of creation when storing your photos since it goes by a timeline. You can (sorry I don't have my phone on me) either swipe up or hit the three dots and edit the date on the photos in the app so that they are all grouped together correctly
