Hi,

I purchased a used Afterburner card on ebay for 700 € from a highly rated seller, it looks solid,
I put it in and ran some tests but I still see my CPU working when I for example make some prores proxy files from prores 4444 using compressor, and the time is about the same as without the card.

Same in Media encoder (does that even support the card, or only Premiere?)
I saw this in the PCI lane tool:

I noticed this red Pool B warning, that I didn't notice before. Warning goes away if I unplug one XDR. I have two Vega IIs and one Sonnet 4x4 Raid card installed besides the AB. I put the AB in slot 5 as recommended in the manual.

In Resolve I also notice CPU load when playing back ProRes, or exporting Prores from Prores.

I have one XDR plugged into one Vega, and another into the other. Two TB drives are plugged into the I/O card. Am I doing something wrong here, or might something be with the card?

UPDATE
Ok it seems to be working under some conditions, it cuts Prores->h264 encodings in half, freeing up the CPU for the encode apparently.. :) But if anyone could say something to this TB pool allocation issue it would be much appreciated!

Also, in Resolve I see absolutely NO effect. Multicam is laggy with and without the AB enabled, while in FCP it runs smoothly.
