hello.

my fiance just got an HP printer scanner copier deskjet f380 and
she has it connected to her emac running tiger through usb... i
would like to be able to print from it on my powermac g4 running
10.3.9... we have our internet through time warner cable service.
she is plugged in to an ethernet port off my wireless router and
i am on a macwireless 802.11g aircard through the same router.

nothing im trying with appletalk or IP printing seems to be correct.

just wondering if anyone has the easy version of how to do this?

thanks.

no usb port on the router... my router is actually
only a 802.11b router... if i upgraded to an 802.11g
with a usb port would this be phenominally easier?

thanks.

I think you could set the printer up through the router and print wirelessly from any computer on the network. This is how it is set up through my airport express, I assume it would work the same way through any router with a USB port.

Did you enable printer sharing on the eMac?

# In Print & Fax preferences, click Sharing.
# Select the "Share these printers with other computers" checkbox, and then select the printers you wish to share.

And this is a good article that might help

I am not much help, but I know it is possible.

I have my HP printer hooked up to my iMac and my son's mac mini can print to it as long as the iMac is on and not sleeping.
