Whenever I read and/or delete something in Mail, it stays in Inbox and as Unread if I log into gmail through a browser. I use the browser version outside of my home and it's a big pain to then try to figure out what I did read and what I didn't..

So I'm just curious if there is a way to keep the real gmail in sync with what I do in Mail.

I'm running POP in Mail, by the way. If that makes a difference. Maybe IMAP does just this?

Does IMAP also sort out how if you send an email from your browser, it shows up in your Apple Mail inbox instead of sent box?

I had trouble setting up IMAP last time I attempted it, maybe I should have another crack...
