How can I sync my iphone contacts into my new MB?

I recently synced my iphone which was synced to a pc to my new macbook because I wanted to get the free ringtones created by garageband. But I was wondering if I can sync my current contacts on my iphone too my "address book" on my macbook. I figured when I resynced it too my macbook that it would automatically add all my contacts to address book but it didn't. Any ways can I can do this? I don't want to sync my current address book to my iphone because my current address book has nothing and I don't want to lose all my contacts.
