How can I transfer .mov and .mp4 files from my MBP to my iPad?

I am trying to transfer files from my MBP to my iPad. I can connect them on Bluetooth but when I try to send it I get the note, "This device does not have the necessary services." Can I not do this with Bluetooth? Is there an app I can use? I want to watch movies on my iPad and I don't have internet at home, so Bluetooth is the preferred way of moving things.
