Hi

I have a Jailbroken iPod touch 4G (with Limera1n) running on 4.1 (8B118), how can I update it to 5.0.1 and jailbreak it with the new tool (untethered)?

Cydia's homepage says that i have SHSH blobs of versions from 4.1 - 5.0.1
what should I do in order not to do anything stupid?! :D

Also, whenever I connect it to iTunes I got this message:
iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod “XXXXXX iPod”. Go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to restore this iPod to factory settings.

Thanks in advance! :apple:

Okay, wipe your iPod to factory settings, for a start. Than do a software update to iOS 5.0.1 via iTunes or from your iPod via wifi. If you're still interested in jailbreaking, here are the links to the latest redsn0w releases:

Don't use the "erase content and setting" on your ipod. Once you do that with jailbroken idevice, it will hang.

All you need to do is to hook it up to Itune and it will ask you to upgrade firmware, click upgrade and Itunes will do the rest.

You do not need to use tiny umbrella at all because this is an upgrade to firmware Apple currently sign.

this is not working for either my ipod 4 or my ipad 1
it wont upgrade no matter how i try and it wont let me do factory reset on either device

Looks like host files are in need of editing! Search your error on google ;);)
