I need to direct a specific domain name to a local IP address on my network. So far I have been modifying the hosts file on every local machine. Is there any way I can do this at the server level so I do not have to modify the shots file on every machine?
thank you.

ok yes- I have OS X server- where to I enter those? That would certainly help.

You should be modifying the configuration of you DHCP server to specify which DNS server and local domain name it should be giving out. What is your DHCP server?

Whatever your DHCP server (or router) is, you should be able to specify a custom DNS server for all the computers that connect to your network using DHCP there.
