Hi everyone,

I'm about to buy an Apple leather case for my first generation iPhone SE. The thing is, these aren't easy to find anymore, and I would like to have one made by Apple.

I'm a little bit suspicious if some of them might not be fakes. I'm actually using one right now and after two years I believe it is now in a terrible condition, even though I had always taken care of it. That made me believe I may have bought a fake in the first place, back then (I bought it from an online market place, but new).

To not repeat the same mistake, I'm looking for a genuine Apple one. Did you know that cases have serial numbers? My iPad Pro case has a serial number written on the inside of it, but it can also be found on the box.

My problem is that the "Check coverage" site can't identify cases. My iPad Pro and iPad Air cases are genuine, or so I think at least, because I've bought them in an Apple store. The "Check coverage" site can't find any of them.

I also called Apple Support, but the employee told me he doesn't have the tools or access needed to check this and didn't know who could do that.

My question: Do you know of a way to find out for sure if a brand new case sold on eBay for example is a genuine Apple product or not? Thank you! ;)
