I just moved into my apartment, and the Internet and Cabel TV is included in our rent, provided my airwaves network. According to airwaves, their TV provider is Dish network.

So I don't have a TV, and Im trying to watch the channels on my mac. So what is the best option for me? Do I need EyeTV as a TV tuner? In other words, how can I watch the cable TV provided to this campus apartments on my mac, without the presence of any TV in my apartment.

Thanks a lot!

Is there a box in the apartment that has video out ports like HDMI or DVI? How are other residents connecting TVs or monitors?

No there isn't any box in the apartment. I just called my TV provider, they told me to get a coax cable to connect a TV to the wall.

So you need a tuner, in an external box or TV to terminate the cable signal, select the channel and put out the video and audio.

Go get a cheap TV at Costco, SAMs, or Walmart.
