How can you bootcamp partition your external drive

Long story short:
The chips which join the motherboard and the hard drives is sort of burnt and stopped working
My friend (who had many certificate, certified to fix computers and software) he got a chip and took my hard drive out of my mac, and put it together with the chip, then he made some terminal commands that makes the computer think that the hard drive is actually 'inside' my computer

Now im having trouble with bootcamp, it says that i cannot bootcamp partition an external drive
