How closely does Apple check rebate submissions?

I bought an ibook last month along with an ipod mini during the Student Union promotion last month. I had signed up for an apple.com account previously, and they sent me a 30 off 300 email coupon for my first purchase. Not reading the fine print, I applied it to the ibook/ipod mini order.

Apple just shipped out the ipod today, and as I go read the details on the rebate form I notice that it cannot be combined with other promotions. Am I screwed here? Will Apple deny the rebate because of the $30 coupon I used?

Most companies are pretty picky about rebates. I've had two denied based on very minor details. I've never had trouble with Apple rebates, but I've always adhered to their details.

Perhaps you should call 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask them about it directly.

I applied that $30 off $300 coupon on my order also when I bought my iBook last month and I just got my $179 rebate check a couple of days ago.
Don't worry about it. $30 off $300 coupon shouldn't disqualify your Student Union Rebate.

I agree, that you should give Apple a call just to be safe.

From the two posts above it sounds like you will be fine.

The barcode on one of my labels is a little bit scratched (a small tear, just about visible). I twas like that on arrival. Will this matter?
