Everytime I want to do a simple copy and paste of a picture it ends up putting in the link to the pic instead of the actual picture. This is really annoying. Is there a way to just do a regular copy and paste? I know about adding it as an attachment but for my job that takes too much time.

Try adding it as an attachment.
I just drag and drop in mail.

Web Email Programs.

Gmail is a web based email. The web interface is not really designed to handle dragging and dropping a file onto a text area box. What macs and PC consider if you drop a file onto a text box it will give the file name URL of the file not the picture itself.

If the pic is hosted somewhere:
select (highlight) the pic
copy (command c)
and paste (command v) it into the message.

right click copy/paste doesn't seem to do it, only key commands. It should then appear as an inline image.
