How come my MBP dims one notch every now and then?

Hey guys,

Now i know what some of you are thinking and i am not talking about the dramatic dim of the display (about 3 or so notches) before it goes to sleep. I activated caffine app and somehow my MBP is pretty sneaky in that it automatically dims one notch whenever i used it for every 30 min. or so. I unchecked the "automatically dim brightness" before sleep in the system preferences. Anyone know anything about this?

It has a light sensor. When it gets dark the display dims, when it gets bright the display brightens.

Ahhhh that makes sense. I thought my MBP was trying to be sneaky in saving energy and dimming the screen hoping I don't realize the difference . Thanks man

In a lighted room, place your hand over the webcam.

You can turn this often under the system preferences. May save some battery life for ya.

Some models (such as mine) have the sensors under the speakers. If the camera doesn't do the trick...
