I was told the pre-Santa Rosa MBPs only read 3.2GB but here it is:

These are Buffalo Techworks memory specifically for Apple notebooks.

So roughly 3.2GB/3.3GB is actually utilized as shown in Task Manager?

It depends where it gets that information from. It shouldn't be able to see that last 700Mb or so, but if it is talking to low level hardware parts, it might recognize that it is there.

Regardless, if it's pre Santa Rosa, it shouldn't actually use that memory.
