I'm just wondering, because when I look at Activity Monitor it said's it takes 500 MB.....Why!!!!



And I only have 3 tabs open

on macrumors
 
Especially if you don't 'Quit' Safari often, it will use a lot of your RAM to store cookies, and quick access files from the websites you visit.

It's like mudding a truck and never washing it. After a few days, the mud will be a foot thick.

Just quit Safari at the end of the day and reopen it in the morning.
 
Safari keeps a lot of things saved in RAM over time. It depends on how many sites you've visited over the time since you last opened Safari. Not how many you've got open at the moment.
