I have a lot apparently and I was wondering will it affect the display in the future.

I can barely see it when the phone is turn on. Heck I can barely see the scratches until I shine light on top of the display.

How detrimental is having a lot of hairline scratches on the display screen?
Only you can answer that. If it doesn't bother you it isn't detrimental.

Light hairline scratches happen by simply wiping the screen down.
Only if you're wiping it with grit made of a material harder than the screen. If you're using a clean cloth it won't scratch the screen. A material has to be harder than another material to scratch it.
