So I'm looking through my Camera Roll photo albums, and sitting im there is an actual image of my iPhone desktop. Somehow, the camera on the phone itself (obviously not through the external lens) took a snapshot of the desktop and saved it to my photo album. I've tried to recreate this event to no avail, nor can I recollect what I was doing at the time (short of some furious clicking around trying to get to another app).

I have no clue how I did this; anyone know?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5A347 Safari/525.20)

it's very cool. Freaky if you don't know you've done it though. Lol

you can take a device screenshot by pressing the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously.

Ah ... such brilliant display of knowledge here, heh. Very nice, thanks for the answers.

An entire year, and somehow I've never managed to do this (accidentally or otherwise) until today.

I very well may be wrong, but I think that key combo triggering a screenshot was something new in 2.0. I don't remember if you could even take a screenshot before without jailbreaking.

Edit: beat to the punch. ;)
