How did she stealthily activate the iSight?

Regarding the following article. Does anybody know how she could have turn on her camera and take snap shots of the thieves without them seeing photo booth or imovie open or if there are any other software she could have used that would stealthily turn on the cam without them knowing giving her time to take snap shots?

Oh that's really kool, don't really know how it knows when the computer has been sold, but whatever. So if she used this then she herself never took the shots, cause the program does for her every 6 minutes. Do you know of any programs that would let her manually take the shots or view the camera? What happen is my brother's annoying friend is staying with us and I want to make sure he doesn't mess with anything in my room. And if the program takes a picture every 6 minutes then it's not live and could just have bad timing with the shots.

There is also this http://gawker.sourceforge.net/Gawker.html which is an open source alternative you, its more of a time lapse program its takes pictures how often you want it to and makes it into a movie file at whatever framerate you want to.
