I have discovered the hard way that certain media (audio, video) editing and processing applications save huge files, eating up disk space. Always knowing exactly why/how/when/where such files get saved is one way ... but, as a "safety net", it would be good to have a way of somehow comparing file system snapshots before and after an application has been used, to determine say whether any files above say 100 MB have been created during that time (hence possibly as a result of using that app).

Any tips?
