iOS How do I access app store data?

Hi guys,

I'm wanting to put together a combination iPhone app and a website that displays apps from the appstore. There's a kinda cool twist to how this data will be displayed tho :)

My question is: How do I pull this data from the appstore (how do websites like www.appshopper.com get this data?).

Are there public APIs that provide access to the store? Is a REST or SOAP API available? I'm sure the data isn't just scraped.

Any advice will be helpful.
