I just installed an SSD in the optical drive bay on my iMac and set up a fresh install of Mountain Lion. My orignal HDD is still in place, but I cannot access the Home directory to access my data. How do I change the permissions to let me in to my data on the original HDD? The username and password are, as far as I know, identical for both OS X installations.

Thanks

It's okay, I've got it figured out. I made myself the of my Home directory on the original drive and hit the Enclosed Items button, or whatever it said. So far, so good. I'm creating aliases and replacing the new Documents, Pictures etc directories with the aliases. I've even got my iTunes library working!

Installing an SSD was a very sensible thing to do!
